Make The Tameside, your HOME
OUR HISTORY
Founded in 1963, our name comes from an amalgamation of 2 former teams, Hurst Wesleyans (Curzon Road Methodists) and Assheton Amateurs. Previously we were known as “Curzon Amateurs” but since 1968 we have been known as Curzon Ashton.
Our towns motto that sits proudly within our club badge of “LABOR OMNIA VINCIT” translates to “WORK CONQUERS ALL”.
OUR HOME
Found in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, The Tameside Stadium was officially opened by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2005.
It comprises 2 two large covered stands, one seated, one terraced along 2 further terraced stands with a total capacity of over 4000.
We also have a club shop, 2 bars and large function room which is available for hire for private events.
WORLD CUP WINNERS
Outside the stadium, you'll find a statue commemorating three locally born World Cup winners.
Sir Geoff Hurst (born in Ashton under Lyne) and Jimmy Armfield (CBE) (born in Denton) who won it in 1966 with England, and Simone Perotta (born in Ashton under Lyne) who won it with Italy in 2006.
We also have a signed Simone Perotta shirt that can be found in the “Nash Bar” inside the ground.
"THE NASH"
Some believe the nickname comes from National Park, our former home and also the home of pre-war club Ashton National.
Others believe it comes from curzo-N ASH-ton.
Either way, we acquired our nickname of : THE NASH
HOW TO FIND US
Ashton-under-Lyne is approximately 7 miles from central Manchester in the County of Tameside.
The club offers free parking next to the ground and we also have a tram stop "Ashton West" that is served by the Manchester Metrolink just a 10 minute walk away.

This is now our 10th consecutive season at this level with the 23/24 season being our best ever finish in the league, where we made the playoffs after finishing 7th.
