Team for this weekends game vs Sedgefied District RUFC

After the weekend off last weekend this weekend we welcome Sedgefield to Blackwell Meadows. Our games against Sedgefield are always one of the first fixtures we look for as the fixtures are announced for the season. Every game is competitive, feisty, but always in the spirit of what rugby should be.

Over to team news, the front row reverts back to Olly Telfer and Dan Miller with Darren Hoare in the middle. All three have shown this season that the mix of experience and youth has worked well. Behind them are club stalwarts Colin Rogers and Chris Anderson adding some much needed bulk to the second row, both bring some strong carrying abilities and game management skills.. In the back row Tom Marston returns in the 6-shirt after his try-scoring exploits in his last game, joined by ever-present Steven Carrick on the openside. Both flankers will be all over the park throughout the game. At the base of the pack is strong, direct running number 8 Matt Short.

Over to the baks, Dan Sullivan returns after a period of work has kept him away for the past couple of weeks, joined in the half-backs by Tony Lawless who brings with him fantastic management of the game. Alex Carnell moves back to the 12-shirt, joined by club vice-captain Sam Hardy to provide the perfect mix of speed and direct running in the centres. On the wings, Pat Searle remains in the 11-shirt hoping to continue with him fine scoring run this season joined by our very own Jonah Lomu in Dan Bonham in the 14 shirt. At the base, Dan Carter in the 15-shirt offers strength under the high ball and support lines throughout the game.

Our finishers this week sees Tom Glenning offer cover across the front row with Gary Dent covering the second and back rows. Ed Hurley re-joins the 1st XV after his fine performance last time out in the 2nd XV.

This weekend also sees the return of our famous Ketton Lunches, so we look forward to a full balcony, a good atmosphere and a competitive game of rugby.
