Following the AGM held on Friday night at Blackwell Meadows we are pleased to announce the committee structure for the 2024/25 season at Darlington RFC.
Long-standing club member Andy Gunnell has stepped into the Chairman role, Andy is someone who needs no introduction to the club, or to the wider North East rugby community. He always has the best interests of DRFC to heart and will be a welcome member of the Committee. Dan Miller steps into the newly formed Vice Chair role from his previous position of Director of Rugby, again, a long standing stalwart of the club. This leaves his previous position to be filled by Chris Anderson, Chris has spent many a year at Darlington, a one-club man who now passes on his knowledge of the game coaching the Girls and Ladies sections of the club. Sonia Bowden has run a tight ship in her role of Treasurer over the past 4-years, not an easy task and has made significant changes to the club providing further stability within the club, after 4-years she has, regrettably, decided to step away from her role and have a well-deserved break, Leanne Thompson has put herself forward to fill the role and we are sure she will have every success in building on the hard work of her predecessor. Finally, in another change we have re-introduced the role of Membership Secretary, Renee Kendall will move into this role, combining it with her fantastic work of organising the Mini & Junior Festival each year.
Andy Robinson, Lee Dodsworth, Rebecca Snook, Adam Walker and Jonathan Hall have all stayed on the committee in their previous roles.
