Darlington Rugby Club is a leading grassroots rugby club in the North East of England.

Location:

Salary:
£25,132.14 – 30 hours per week Permanent (£31k FTE)

The Role & Operation:
Darlington Rugby Club is a leading grassroots rugby club in the North East of England.
Set on the outskirts of Darlington the club boasts 5 Rugby pitches and Football pitches
– home of Darlington FC and Darlington Young Bulls.
The club house has a range of spaces available for hire and the club caters for club
events and offers private hire for weddings, birthdays, wakes and celebrations. The club
has two large function rooms alongside a member’s lounge, boardroom and additional
facilities including ample changing room provision.
Darlington Rugby Club have a range of hirers on site including archery, American
football and charity events. We are looking for an operations manager to lead the
business operations of the busy facility.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
 Managing accounts and finance
 Management of staff
 Using systems such as RBS Mentor, Rotacloud, Skedda and Office packages
 Liaison with Rugby Club Board of Directors.
 Liaison with Stakeholders such as Darlington Football Club, Young Bulls and others.
 Safety Advisory Group Liaison
 Reporting and Maintenance – implementing maintenance works.
 Liaison with Grounds
 Ensuring safeguarding procedures are in place and followed by the staff.
 Liaison with Chef
 Invoicing and accounting (working with accountants where required)
 Establishing Standard operating procedures and Emergency action plans.
 Making sure that the club meets health, safety and security regulations and licensing
 Briefing Managers and establishing operating procedures
 Any other duties required with running a vibrant and busy rugby club.

The Candidate:
ꞏ MUST have previous experience and a proven track record of working in a operations
(or similar) role.
ꞏ The ability to run a multi-faceted rugby club catering for all site users.
ꞏ A commitment to provide the highest standards of customer service.
ꞏ Experience of management budgets
ꞏ Effective communication skills
ꞏ Experience of overseeing health and safety.
ꞏ Experience of staff management
ꞏ Effective communication skills to support the staff and operations teams, ensuring
procedures are adhered too.
ꞏ Ability to build effective professional relationships
ꞏ Experience of reporting and maintenance ensuring that best value is sought from
suppliers.

Experience:
 Facility Management: 2years (preferred)
 Staff management (2 years)
Licence/Certification:
 Driving License (preferred)
Work Location: In person
