Daventry Town Football Club are pleased to announce that Arron Parkinson and Andy Marks have been appointed as joint First Team Managers.

Northampton-born Parkinson is no stranger to Town fans having made over 200 appearances in the Purple shirt.

He last signed for Daventry Town from AFC Rushden & Diamonds in November 2014 by the then Management pairing of Allan Smart and Ady Fuller.

The 6 foot 2 centre half was expected to sign on for Town for the 2015/2016 season however with the then Woodford United Manager Darran Foster returning to the Town to replace Allan Smart, Arron was offered and accepted the Player Managers role at the Byfield Road club.

He made 22 UCL Division 1 appearances last season and will register to play again for Town this season.

He has recently resigned from his position as Player Manager at Woodford United.

Parky has featured in 3 UCL winning sides – Twice with Town winning the Division 1 in 2007/2008 and Premier Division in2009/2010 and winning the Premier with Woodford United in 2005/2006. He was also captain of Southern League Leamington Town and Daventry Town.

Arron has also played for Banbury United and Brackley Town before joining Banbury based, Easington Sports.

Former Cogenhoe United Manager, Andy Marks, will work alongside Parkinson as Joint Manager. Marks has a decade of management experience behind him at step 5/6 and was in charge of the club when Town overcame his resilient team to win the Hillier Cup at Sixfields 3 0 in April 2014.

The FA have today confirmed that Daventry Town have been allocated to the United Counties League and will start in Division 1 next season.

The new committee are excited that Arron and Andy have joined the club and are confident that the structure is in place to support their ambitions over the coming seasons. With the 1st Team and Junior setups now in place ready for next season we are hoping to build some stronger foundations with female football and an U18s to complement our community vision.
