Deep Run boyz open up 2016 season with scrimmage result of 6-1

Frank Ford7 Mar 2016 - 02:15

The soccer season begins 2016 with friendly versus Clover Hill at their place.

It didn't take long as the team opened up the scoring in the first minute.
Combination attacking play allowed Tyler Schardein to slot a ball into the back of the net early. Clover Hill had a quick answer and got a goal back beating Christian Smucker and knotted the scoresheet. Quick play and unselfish play seemed the theme from the wildcats squad.
Connor peed dominated the middle of the park and threatened the final third throughout his time on the pitch. Linking up with Jack Bobitz and Eric Garcia with quick touches and brilliant attacking eventually led to another chance that Schardein was the recipient of and scored his second goal. It started with Garcia picking up a loose pass in their defensive third where he linked up with Peed and a fantastic assist led to the second goal by Schardein's finish. Minutes later a corner sent into the back stick and rookie sophomore Ryan Hall headed it into the back of the net to take us into half up 3-1
The second half was very much like the first with good combination play that allowed sophomore Nick Jlrdan to have a clean sheet for his 45 minutes between the post.
Ayman Gafar got a chance early and made it look easy. Hard work off the ball with really good pressing along with his twin eventually led to an assist and a one time finish from freshman Matt Shriner made the score 5-1. Later Ahmjed got his chance and equaled his brother's scoreline with an equally nice to to make the last goal of the night to make the final 6-1.
The scoreline is not reflective of the quality of the Clover Hill squad as it took a solid defensive effort led by captain Chris Byrum to keep their goal tally to just one goal.
A NICE TEAM EFFORT AND NJCE RESULT AS FRIENDLIES GO?
