Didcot Town return to league business tomorrow afternoon as table toppers Corby Town make the journey to the Loop Meadow Stadium, 3pm kick off. Didcot are looking for their 3rd win in a row in all competitions and back to back league wins for the first time this season, the challenge couldn't be tougher however as Corby come into the game full of confidence having beaten promotion rivals Berkhamsted at Steel Park last Saturday.
The 2 fixtures between the sides provided plenty of goals last season with 10 goals shared as Didcot won the game at the Loop 3-2 before Corby returned the favour with a 3-2 win of their own at Steel Park. in the game at the Loop Diddy fell behind early on before a brace from Lance Williams and a David Murphy goal turned the deficit around before Corby scored a late consolation as Didcot claimed an impressive win. Corby finished last season much stronger than the Railwaymen and fell at the final hurdle with a harsh loss to Bromsgrove in the playoff final but there's been no signs of a hangover as the Steelmen now sit top of the table and look to go one better this time around.
Despite a rare week off it's still been a case of injury concerns for manager Jamie Heapy, defender Joe Green has a knee problem that he picked up after the defeat at Coleshill which kept him out of the Biggleswade game. He hasn't trained this week but he is being given every possible opportunity to be available for Saturday as Cameron McNeill is suspended meaning Didcot have a shortage at the back. Seth Humphries is still around a week away with his niggling ankle injury and Josh Pin around 2 weeks from fitness following his hip injury. Winger Jack Dark is also unavailable this weekend.
In better news for Didcot is the return to fitness for Liam Talboys as well as a return to the club for Jack Longford who will also be in the squad tomorrow to hopefully boost the Railwaymen's fortunes.
Didcot picked up an impressive and deserved 1-0 win last time out against Biggleswade in front of a fantastic crowd of 440, we'd love to see as many of you back at the Loop as possible for tomorrow's big game as Didcot will need that added support to try and upset the league leaders.
