The team progressed through the various Divisions of the Bristol & Distriet League to Division Land moved to the Company Ground at Carsons Road

Elected to the Gloucestershire County League in 1987 they finished in a mid table position and won the Berkeley Hospital Cup for the second year in suocession.

When the ground at Carsons Road was developed for housing ORG AFC took over Stapleton FC alter paying off their considerable debts, and moved to their present ground at Frenchay Park Road. A great deal of work had to be done improving the pitch to bring it up to County Leugue sundard.and it was some two years before DRG AFC moved on to the ground. Although Stapleton FC now no longer existed. at the roquest of the Stapleton members DRG agreed to incorporate the Stapteton name.
Unfortunately the Club has not had the same success since their enforced move, with the Reserve side being demoted to the Bristol & District Division 3. However with a brand new squad and Management for both teams we are hoping for a better season this year, and our hopes were alfited, when the First team. after being in top spot for a month finished in a respectable position in the League table. The reserves went one better is Champions of Division 3 of the Bristol & District League, and only nurrowly beaten in the GEA Intermediate Cup Final. In 2011 the Reserves finished Champions of Division 2 of the Bristol and District League and were promoted to Division I, With the majority of the Reserve players leaving., scason 2031/12 saw us have a horrendous season und were demoted to Division 2, no fault of the manager, who struggled to keep players. Scason 2012/3 saw a new manager.
Dennis Perry, who assembled a new squad and they are currently well placed in the League table, In 2012 we decided to change the Club name to DRG Frenchay AFC. The end of' season 2012.13 saw the First Team relegated to the Bristol Premier Combination the first time they had been relegated in their long history.
