The 4ths were the only team to thwart a Club clean sweep of Saturday wins as Luke Cooper's one man show and maiden century wasn't enough to overhaul a huge run chase at Redditch.

Super Cooper creamed 129 but his valiant efforts couldn't prevent his side slipping to defeat by 68 runs in the WCL Division 8 (East) fixture.

Spa's decision to bowl first backfired as Redditch's opening pair put on 133 for the first wicket with the hosts going on to pile up 309-6. Opener Kevin Lokenath carried his bat as he smashed 19 fours and two sixes in an unbeaten 142.

Dan Pearson returned 4-49 but no Spa bowler managed to go for less than five runs an over.

In reply, Cooper was the only batter to score more than 20. The visitors slipped from 180-4 to 197-7 before Cooper was eighth out with the score on 220 - his 85-ball stay at the crease featured 15 fours and five maximums.
