A jovial but competitive sportsman, Brian captained the club for most of the 1980s and did a second stint in the early 1990s before skippering the 2nds.

Representing the club for over 30 seasons, he was a prolific number three batsman who scored numerous centuries, an excellent slip fielder and an occasional medium pace bowler.

Everyone at DSCC extends their condolences to Brian's wife Jenny and his sons Mike and Pete, who both played for the Club.

A minute's silence will take place at approximately 12.15pm on Saturday before the games at St Peter's Fields to which all are invited.
