Another win

A second successive half-century from Tom Goss and a four-fer for Cam Moseley were pivotal as the Fourths won again and claimed second place in Division 5 2nd XI with a 64-run win against Oldswinford.

On a slow wicket, Droitwich made 152-8 thanks to two important partnerships. Captain Peter Gurr and Steve Perry put on 40 for the second wicket before the skipper and run-machine Tom Goss added 78 for the fifth wicket.

Goss scored 51, whilst Gurr strode off at tea with a painstaking but vital 52 not out to his name.

With the pitch rapidly firming up in the sunshine, Oldswinford started their innings in an upbeat mood but they were soon on the back foot as Jacey Foster grabbed two wickets courtesy of good catches by Simon Holliday and Nick Goss.

Despite a hamstring tweak, veteran Perry also picked up a brace but it was left to Mosely to inflict carnage as he collected two wickets in his first over.

The youngster then sent the dangerous Lane packing as Holliday snaffled another chance on the backward square-leg boundary before he caught and bowled the last Oldswinford batsman to finish with a phenomenal 4-5.

This Saturday, the Fourths head in confident mood to a resurgent Redditch, who have won their last two games albeit against bottom of the table clubs.
