Spa still looking for first win...

Droitwich were left to rue not putting enough runs on the board as well as not forcing home an early advantage when they took the field as they suffered a four-wicket defeat at the hands of Redditch.

Despite veteran Paul Bryan’s patient innings of 55 not out, no other batsmen was able to stick with him as the home side could only post 166 all out and crucially failed to bat out their overs. Ash Fearnall chipped in with 32 and Jordan Renau made 26 but were unable to convert into bigger scores as Waqas Ali claimed 4-31.

Redditch were reduced to 1-2 in reply as Max Young and Jack Sealey picked up a wicket apiece before Brandon Weal (47) and captain Russell Southwick (59) put on a century stand to swing the game back in the visitors favours.

Spinners Jake Young (3-55) and Martyn Davies ensured the visitors had to work for the victory, which was achieved with the extra overs not used up by Spa.

Now level on points with second bottom Pedmore and just one point ahead of basement club Colwall, Jake Young’s men will be hoping to pick up that elusive first win of the season when they travel to Stourport on Saturday.
