Oli Sankey was the first recipient of the Nicol & Co 'Player of the Weekend' award as he produced an excellent all-round performance in the 2nds' friendly win over Chaddesley Corbett.
He chipped in with 36 not out in a Spa score of 193-6 off 40 overs and then delivered a tidy spell of 1-15 from six overs as the visitors were dismissed 60 runs shy of their target.
Batting first, there were useful contributions from a couple of returning players - Scott Clarke, who retired after hitting the first 2nd team half century of the season, and Harry Staley, who made 37.
Club captains Anthony Redfern and Cam Moseley were the main wicket takers - the 3rds skipper was the pick with 4-23 whilst his 4th team counterpart claimed two scalps. Also getting straight into the groove was Ajay Kumar, who returned 1-6 from his first six overs of the season.
