It was a fantastic weekend for the Seconds as they went top of 2nd XI Division Two and their nearest challengers Belbroughton and Netherton both lost.

Spa climbed to the top of the table after seeing off Burghill thanks once again to the enigmatic and evergreen Martin Woodward, who claimed his second successive five-fer – the wily spinner grabbing 5-19 from his 10 overs. There was also three wickets for Ollie Sankey as the visitors were bowled out for 87.

The Droitwich reply struggled in the face of a fiery opening salvo by Burghill’s opening bowler James Howard, who went on to grab 4-23. However he couldn’t dismiss Martin Keen, who scored an unbeaten 34 to guide his side home.
