A controversial penalty turned the game on its head as that, and the sending off of Mathieu Boyer, gave the home side the momentum to secure the win.

A game that exploded into life after a first half that was a non-event eventually turned crucially in the home side's favour with a controversial decision.

The hamlet side showed a n umber of changes from the win over Leatherhead, with Xavier Vidal and Kevin James returning in the centre of midfield and the Marcel Henry-Francis preferred to Ian Daly as the focus of the attack.

Bognor had the better of the first half but there were really only two chances of note; a free header from a corner that was misdirected and a fine double save from Phil Wilson. At the other end Dulwich had lots of possession but created little of note, the only half chance being when Xavier Vidal found himself clear on the edge of the box but rather than shoot he tried to play in Nyren Clunis.

The second half opened with Daly replacing Henry-Francis and Dulwich pressing forward and Nyren Clunis had a goal bound shot deflected wide by full back Alex Malins. The resulting corner then struck the outside of the post but Peter Adeniyi was unable to force the ball home in the resulting scramble.

However, the game sprang into life on 66 minutes as Kevin James was dispossessed just outside the Bognor area and a superb long pass sent Arron Hopkinson clear on the left and he honed in on goal and emphatically beat Phil Wilson.

Play was now switching end to end and Dean Lodge should have drawn Dulwich level as a perfectly weighted ball inside the right full back saw him with only the keeper to beat but he could only find the side netting.

However, it was this move that was to be repeated twice more on 70 and 76 minutes and both times Dean Lodge confidently beat Zawadski in the home goal. First, he lofted a fine finish over the advancing Zawadski and the, beat him low to his right as he advanced.

In between these goals there was also a header from Erhun Oztumer that was just too high as he beat both centre half and keeper to get on the end of a cross.

Following Lodge's second goal it appeared that The Hamlet had taken a grip on the game and Bognor began to pose less of a threat.

This changed with 3 minutes remaining when a cross from the Dulwich left was slid across the edge of the six yard box but the onrushing Bognor forward was unable to get on the end of it and the danger seemed to have passed. To everybody's amazement, the referee had seen something that appeared to have escaped both teams and every Bognor fan behind the goal.

He decided that Mathieu Boyer had pushed the onrushing forward, even though he was in front of him, and pointed to the spot. To compound matters he also ruled that Boyer had denied a clear goalscoring opportunity and sent him off. Ben Johnson stepped up and confidently converted from the spot.

If that wasn't bad enough then injury time was to see what had looked like 3 points become none. First of all, a poor clearance resulted in a fierce shot that Wilson palmed but could not hold; Terry Dodd nipped in to score. Then with The Hamlet committed forward, a swift break saw a cross delivered to the far post where Craig Robson converted to seal the home side's win.
