Hello and welcome to Champion Hill!
Dulwich Hamlet is proud of its community links and we are always keen to support local clubs and organisations. This afternoon we’d like to extend a warm welcome to the members, families and friends of Honor Oak Panthers Hockey Club. They are here as part of our free tickets for school and youth group scheme.
Honor Oak Panthers are a new, vibrant junior hockey club aimed at getting children active and playing hockey. The club was established in July 2018 with the goal of giving children in South East London greater access to hockey. They have a particularly strong link to Dulwich Hamlet – not just their very well chosen club colours - as they share the same sponsor in Bulb Energy.
They run weekly training sessions on Sundays that will restart in September 2019. Alongside this they organise a number of school holiday hockey camps that run throughout the year. The club caters for all abilities from the ages of 5 to 14 with their experienced and professional coaching team on hand to guide them and nurture their talent.
The club is conveniently located at King’s College Sports Ground in Honor Oak Park, offering an excellent, safe facility with a lovely clubhouse overlooking the pitches - handy for parents. They also have a weekly after school session planned for September 2019, so keep your eyes peeled for more info! For those interested in more information and how to join please visit their website or emailinfo@panthershc.com.
You can also follow them on Twitter and Instagram (@HOPanthersHC) for the latest news and updates.
As a club, we are keen to promote as many opportunities (not just football) for children to be active and choose healthy lifestyles. This is one of many local community links we have developed and hope to grow as the year goes on. Later on this season, we are planning to run a joint event with Honor Oak Panthers to give as many children as possible the chance to experience and play a range of sports.
With this in mind, if you know of any local sports groups or clubs who might be keen to get involved (and take us up on our offer of free tickets to a DHFC home game), please encourage them to get in touch!
Over the last week, we’ve had lots of interest in our mascot scheme. If you know someone who would like to lead the teams out at South London’s finest non-league club – tell them to get in touch! We currently have spaces for the majority of the Men’s and Women’s team home games. Fixture can be found here.
Lastly, Redthread Youth, a local charity who have close links with the club, are looking for runners to represent them in the Royal Parks half marathon in October this year. If you fancy putting on your running shoes and raising money for a fantastic local cause, please let us know!
As always, thank you for your fantastic support and I hope you enjoy the game!
