PREVIEW | Hastings United vs Dulwich Hamlet

PREVIEW | Hastings United vs Dulwich Hamlet

Kian Ward12 Jan 2024 - 14:08

Dulwich head to the Sussex coast in search of a first away win of 2024.

Dulwich are on the road again for the 2nd time this year as they head to sunny Hastings on Saturday afternoon in search of their first points away from home in 2024.

The Hamlet come into this one on the back off of a 90th minute winner against Hashtag United in front of 3334 at Champion Hill last Saturday. An inspired substitution saw Josh Shonibare replace Captain Mark Ricketts before Shonibare would score the winner securing all 3 points for the boys in Pink & Blue.

Dulwich will be boosted by the return of R'avan Constable who is contention to start again on Saturday afternoon after he missed our first 2 games of 2024 through injury. Former youth product Alfie Egan is the latest new signing to join the Hamlet after he signed from AFC Totton last weekend.

Hastings United come into this on the back of an away win at struggling Cheshunt. A 3-2 victory for them in Hertfordshire last Saturday in the league was followed by victory in the Sussex Senior Cup on Tuesday night after they defeated the struggling Eastbourne Borough of the National League South on penalties at Priory Lane.

In the League they're unbeaten in their last 5 having picked up 2 wins and 3 draws in the process. Securing away victories at Cheshunt and a 5-0 win away to Folkestone whilst also coming from behind to salvage a 3-3 draw against bottom of the table Concord Rangers.

This is Hastings first Home game of the New Year and first Home game since they drew 1-1 with Bognor Regis on December 16th.

The Hamlet host an impressive record in the league with only 2 defeats since the 1-1 draw with Haringey Borough on November 4th.
