Hamlet secure victory in front of sell out crowd! By Nico Blakemore

As both teams headed out on to a sunny but crisp Champion Hill for their 26th game of the season they were both looking to grab all 3 points.

It didn’t take long for Dulwich Hamlet to take an early lead as they won a penalty after Danny Mills headed the ball onto Dan Carey-Evans’ flailing arm which was deemed a penalty in the 8th minute. Luke Wanadio stepped up and calmly placed the ball into the right side of the goal sending Dillon Barnes the wrong way.

Hamlet’s electric start didn’t end there as in the 12th minute Wanadio changed from scorer to provider after whipping the ball in which Manny Parry flicked into the right side of the net to double the lead.

As the teams came out for the second half with Hamlet leading 2-0, Haringey Borough were looking to reduce the deficit which is what they did in the 64th minute as the ball was cut back to the penalty spot where Mohammed Kahdum steered the ball into the bottom right corner to pull one back.

The expected onslaught of pressure came from Haringey in the final 20 minutes of the game which saw them hit the post from a header, but in the 94th minute the risk they took piling players forward left Ayuk Tarh on the counter playing in Wanadio who one on one with the keeper slotted the ball near post to grab his second of the game.

Meaning Hamlet keep all three point at Champion Hill this Saturday.
