Hakan Hayrettin has made his fifth signing since joining the Hamlet by bringing in David Stephens on loan from Boreham Wood.

The 31-year-old has been with the Wood since October 2015, being an integral part of their defence for much of that time, playing in more than 200 games in the National League.

He was also a key part of the side which reached the last 16 of the FA Cup last season, playing in the 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park alongside Frankie Raymond and James Comley.

Prior to joining Boreham Wood, David spent three seasons with Barnet in both League Two and the National League, winning the latter in 2015, and has also played in the Scottish Premier League with Hibernian.

The former Norwich City youngster has also represented Wales at U17, U19 and U21 level.

David has been given the number 5 shirt vacated by Jordan Cheadle, who has returned to Dorking Wanderers.
