Cameron Thompson bolsters midfield options for Hamlet after Clarke departure

The club can today announce the signing of 22-year-old attacking midfielder Cameron Thompson.

Cameron joins after making a solitary appearance for Dover Athletic in the Kent Senior Cup in midweek, having been at Torquay United earlier in the season, where he played twice in the National League.

He is a childhood friend of Joe Felix, with the duo coming through the ranks at Fulham together and attending the same school, and played for the Fulham U21s in the EFL Trophy during the 2017-18 campaign, scoring on his debut against Charlton Athletic. He went on to make a further three appearances in the competition.

In 2020 he moved to Barnsley, and made his debut for the first team a year later in the League Cup, before a Football League debut followed in January of last year against Birmingham City. He also had a loan spell in the National League North with Darlington at the end of last season, scoring once in ten appearances.

Cameron will wear the number 10 shirt vacated by Sam Deadfield earlier in the season, and is available to face Slough Town at Arbour Park this weekend.

On behalf of everyone at the club, welcome to Dulwich Hamlet Cameron, we look forward to seeing you out on the pitch!
