After two away days we are back at home this weekend against Slough Town, aiming to keep our unbeaten start to the campaign intact.
This week has seen us pick up a couple of draws on our travels, drawing 1-1 at both Farnborough last Saturday and Concord Rangers on Tuesday, results which has seen us reach five points after three games, and sitting seventh in the formative table.
Our visitors by contrast have yet to record a victory this season, kicking off with a 3-1 defeat at Havant & Waterlooville on the opening day, before earning a first point of the season at home to Tonbridge last weekend. However, they were not able to build on this point as they fell to another defeat during the week, losing 2-0 at Arbour Park to Chelmsford City. They currently occupy one of the four relegation spots in the table, sitting in 22nd place.
Since the two sides both earned promotion in 2018, they share an identical record of two wins each, with one further draw, and interestingly the home side in the fixture has yet to win, with the Hamlet winning both their games in Berkshire, and Slough being unbeaten in their three visits here. In fact we have not beaten Slough at home in our last 11 attempts, with no victory at Champion Hill since the 1988-89 season!
Last season, the Hamlet took four points off the Rebels, with Ibra Sekajja's injury time leveller ensuring that the Hamlet got a share of the points at Champion Hill in March following a Ben Harris opener. The Ugandan had been the matchwinner just a month earlier at Arbour Park in a 2-1 success, Reise Allassani scoring the other goal.
Our overall record against Slough reads:
Played 54 | Won 17 | Drawn 10 | Lost 27 | Goals For 78 | Goals Against 93
