We're now into the final 20 games of the season as we begin February with a trip to Dorset looking to complete a league double over Weymouth.
The two sides met just before Christmas, and it would be an unhappy evening in South London for the Terras, as they arrived late, saw Tom Bearwish dismissed within the first half hour, and then succumbed to two second half strikes from Johl Powell and Dan Smith.
We come into this fixture in patchy form. After the unbeaten run in December, which stretched into the New Year's Day victory at Dover, we have lost four of our five league outings, as well as the heavy London Senior Cup defeat at Wingate & Finchley. This run includes three losses on the bounce, most recently in front of a full house at Champion Hill last Saturday, with Eastbourne Borough leaving as 3-1 winners. We begin the day 16th in the table, six points above the bottom four.
Paul Barnes has made a signing this week, adding midfielder Dominic Odusanya to the squad on a one-month loan deal from Maidstone United, and he will be in the squad for today's game. Two players we will be without though are Sanchez Ming, who begins his three game suspension, and Frankie Raymond, serving the second half of his two match ban.
Defeat at Champion Hill ended a run of 13 points from five games for the Terras, and sparked a sequence of five successive defeats, which came to an end on Tuesday evening as they recorded a 2-1 victory over Hampton & Richmond Borough in Dorset.
An early strike from David Sesay, his first goal for the club, was enough to give them a halftime lead, before Ahkeem Rose's 10th goal of the season saw them extend their advantage. Despite Tommy Wood replying, the Terras held on, and are now four points from safety in the table.
They too have been busy in the loan market this week, with strikers Nahum Melvin-Lambert and David Nyarko arriving from Reading, and defender Jamie Egan from Bristol Rovers, all on a one month deal. Going back to his parent club is Luke Jenkins, returning to AFC Wimbledon.
Our solitary competitive visit to the Bob Lucas Stadium came in January 2020, which saw the teams share a 1-1 draw. Lionel Ainsworth had given us a 16th minute lead, only for Jake McCarthy to level before the break. Charlie Grainger, Quade Taylor and Danny Mills all played that day.
