Highlights of Dulwich's 3-2 defeat to Cray Valley in the semi-final of the London Senior Cup. The Hamlet arrived in Eltham searching for their first final appearance in the competition for 13 years, and despite making eight changes to the team that lost to Grays Athletic, it seemed that the evening would be a straightforward one, as they raced into a 2-0 lead inside 29 minutes. First a surging run from deep inside his own half by Dipo Akinyemi saw him play in Dumebi Dumaka, who slotted beyond Jordan Carey, before Akinyemi capitalised on a wayward backpass to score his fifth goal of this year's competition. Phil Wilson made one top drawer save in the first half but the Hamlet were in control. It remained that way until 17 minutes from time, when Cray Valley were brought back into the game courtesy of a beautiful strike from Taylor McDonagh, and in the 84th minute, some sloppy Hamlet defending allowed Ben Francis to nip into the penalty area and equalise. Having forced extra-time, the home side completed an excellent turnaround when Aaron Rhule saw a ball fall kindly to him, and he proceeded to nutmeg Wilson. Dulwich finally kicked into life, with Harly Wise seeing a header cleared off the line, and Quade Taylor denied by Carey, but the home side held on to a deserved win and reach the final for the first time in their history, and will face the Metropolitan Police at Champion Hill on Wednesday 3rd May.
