#EARLOFTHEWEEK - JOEL HUGHES

Earls Admin12 Jun 2020 - 09:00

The old head in the Earls squad in the spotlight this week, big striker Joel Hughes.

The Londoner made the move to the Earls last summer and has a top non league cv, playing up and down the country.

The striker played higher up the pyramid in his younger days down south for the likes of East Thurrock, Ossett Town and Guildford City. He also had a spell up North after moving to Yorkshire with Campion AFC and Yorkshire Amatuers.

After moving to the Midlands in 2018 he signed for AFC Solihull in MFL3. 8 goals and 4 man of the match awards that season showed he still had plenty to offer at this level. With Solihull just missing out on promotion by 2 points Hughes followed player manager Tom Reynolds to the Pavilions.

An injury hit and prematurely ended season last year saw him make only 5 starts. But he still managed to score and pick up man of the match against his former club Solihull in the Les James cup. A big character on and off the pitch we hope to see him fully fit and bringing his experience back for the Earls next season.
