Khurram started the interview by giving his initial thoughts on the 1-3 win, saying, "Really, really good second half performance - first half I thought we started off well but we conceded a sloppy goal and after that, I thought we had a good second half, and we put a good shift in."
The winger has found some form and has now scored three times in his past four games - the latest coming in the second half of Wednesday night's game, and Shazad spoke about his golden touch in the box and how his confidence is growing with the goal tally.
"I think for any player when we score a goal it just brings all the confidence up, and I can't wait for the next game to be fair I just want to keep scoring goals, but the main point is that we're also getting the result at the end of the game."
He added (talking about his latest goal); "It felt amazing scoring, once I saw it go into the back of the net I was just so excited and I knew from there that the boys were really excited so, I knew we were going to just work really hard and get ourselves back into the game, and hopefully win it, and we did at the end!"
A quick quote from Luke Harrop's post-Athersley match interview - he stated that the substitution of bringing Shazad on added fresh legs and some extra chances of scoring, and Khurram had his say on whether he felt if he added an extra attacking gear on the game.
Shazad honestly explained; "Every time I come on I just want to get the ball down and take players on and hopefully create chances for the team, and today I was lucky to get the first goal and assist the last one."
The former Pakistan Under 19's man also added on whether his performance has improved his chances on starting against Hall Road Rangers on Saturday; "Hopefully, but mind you we've got a big squad with a great set of lads so I'll just take each game as it comes."
Lastly, the interview ended with a reference to some on-going banter from the changing rooms - a backstory to it was Khurram Shazad rounding the opposition goalkeeper in the game and instead of passing the ball to Jake Thompson to tap into an empty net, he had a shot himself and the shot got saved by the goalkeeper. The pair saw the funny side of things when joking around about the matter in the changing rooms.
Furthermore, Shazad gave spoke about the chance, light-heartedly saying; "To be fair anyone looking at the chance I should've scored or assisted it as well to Jake, but I don't know how he saved it to be fair - I did all the hard work, but poor finish - Jake my bad!"
