14/2/2014 - Weekly round-up from ENRFC captain, Jason Thompson

Northerners,

Good to get the 2s a run out on Saturday past and very unlucky with a harsh penalty at the death to deny us the mini-tournament victory. We’ll continue to look for similar fixtures if availabilities suggest it’s possible. Also, good to see so many make it along to the Bunker during what could have been a quiet 6 Nations weekend for the club.

Back to the Edinburgh Regional Shield for the 1s this week hosting Trinity. It’d be good to prove that our first ever win over this team earlier in the season wasn’t a fluke and a chance to enjoy a game without the pressures of league points at stake. Not a brilliant week of training with less than 10 turning up both evenings. That’s wasted time for those guys so please get yourself along next week and let us know if you’re waiting at Accies. I’m hopeful we’re nearing the end of our last winter of reliance on Accies for lighting (once the garage door is sorted and generator lights are housed) so very few sessions with that setup remaining.

RHC have offered a friendly on 22nd February. Kevin Hourigan will agree details but it’ll likely be 11.30am KO. Please send in availabilities a.s.a.p. so we know where we stand. Wherever it’s played we shall head back to the Bunker for Six Nations round 3.
