Our Under 6's entered the Flint Town JFC Tournament on Sunday with both teams, Rovers and Rangers having a great time on a very cold and wet day.

The boys were up against quality competition from such teams as Shore Villa, Flint Town and Hollywell. Although the Rangers failed to progress to the knock out stages they did manage a win against a Saturday Academy side winning 2-1. Player of the tournament went to Kurtis Jones. The Rovers, however topped the group with 6 wins and a draw. In the semi final they came up against Flint Town and led for most of the game until Flint equalised in the dying minutes. This took the game to sudden death extra time and it was Port who got the winner. The final was an all Wirral affair with Port playing against Shore Villa. Villa took an early lead only for Port to equalise soon after, but in the dying moments, player of the tournament, Sam Hughes scored a screamer of a free kick from just outside the box to earn the South Wirral side the trophy. A big thank you to Flint Town for their hospitality and well done to all of the players from all of the teams who played on the day.
