Enfield Borough were left to rue missed opportunities as they settled for a 3-3 draw at home against Basildon Town. Despite a blistering start that saw them 2-0 up within the first 10 minutes, Borough couldn’t hold on for the win.
The home side struck early, with Jadon Yamoah curling a shot beyond the keeper to open the scoring. Just minutes later, Alex Mansaray doubled the lead, firing a superb shot into the top corner. At that point, Borough appeared in total control.
However, Basildon Town responded in spectacular fashion. In the 26th minute, Charlie Jarvis pulled one back for the visitors with an audacious free-kick from his own half, catching Borough off guard. Sensing a shift in momentum, Basildon found themselves level just four minutes later as Christian Mukanda made it 2-2, capitalizing on defensive lapses from Borough.
After the break, Enfield Borough regained their rhythm and applied pressure on Basildon's defense. Their efforts paid off in the 55th minute when Yamoah grabbed his second goal of the game, finishing a brilliant solo run to put Borough back in front at 3-2. Moments later, Basildon were reduced to ten men after one of their players was sin-binned, giving Borough the advantage.
Borough had the chance to extend their lead from a corner shortly after but wasted a free header from just a few yards out. Despite being down a man, Basildon continued to push forward. Their determination was rewarded in the 62nd minute when Rhys Wilson unleashed an unstoppable strike, leveling the score once again at 3-3.
The remainder of the match saw both sides exchanging half-chances, but neither could find the decisive goal. In the end, it was Enfield Borough who left the pitch frustrated, having led twice but ultimately having to settle for a point.
