3 from 3 for the Es

The 1XI hosted Woking & Horsell. Epsom batted first and made a strong start with an opening stand of 74 from Bird and Zeb. Wickets then fell leaving Epsom still with some work to do to secure a good total. Lowe (64), with support from Somerford and Dunn, was able to push on leaving the Es with a total of 232-8 from their 50 overs. In response Woking lost regular wickets and were never able to get up with the required run rate finishing on 155-9 from 50 overs. Chisoro the pick of the bowlers with 3-22.

The 2XI travelled to Woking to complete the fixture double header. Epsom batted first and intial progress was steady against some good bowling on a tricky pitch. Abeywickrama looked to start to free his arms but was dismissed for 39 and Page followed shortly afterwards for 31 leaving Epsom on 134-5. However, as with he 1XI, the depth of the batting line up showed through and Fairlie-Clarke (36) and Nickels (45) were able to guide the Es to a score of 235. Epsom bowling started with accurate bowling from Hlobil and Page beating the bat frequently and continued in similar impressive fashion from all bowlers. Wickets fell regularly, including two run outs from sharp fielding. With he score on 67-8 Tuck entered the attack and took two wickets with his first two balls to secure a comprehensive victory for Epsom.

The 3XI took on Banstead at Alex Rec. Epsom batted first and the top five all got starts without making a big score. Step forward skipper Lassiter who hammered 73 to guide his team to a total of 231 from their 45 overs. In response, no-one from Banstead (with the exception of Sultan) was able to muster much resistance. Two wickets apiece for openers Elliot Baker and Shahid and also for spinner Will Baker had Banstead on the ropes and skipper Lassiter completed an excellent afternoon by hoovering up the last three wickets for just 7 runs, dismissing the opposition for 115.
