Leinster will need Brian O’Driscoll and Gordon D’Arcy to produce a trademark performance at Toulon on Saturday, and Will Carling has put Ireland’s legendary centre partnership through a pre-match warm-up ahead of the Heineken Cup quarter-final. D’Arcy and O’Driscoll, who are brimming with confidence following their recent Six Nations championship triumph, were on the receiving end of a thorough examination from former England captain Carling in the latest edition of The Heineken Rugby Show. The 48-year-old asked the Leinster duo three questions about their team-mate in a bid to ascertain just how well D’Arcy and O’Driscoll know each other following a staggering 57 internationals together in the green of Ireland. Toulon have won 13 out of their 14 home matches this season, with a 22-21 loss to Grenoble in January the only imperfection in an otherwise impressive season for the Top 14 giants. And Leinster’s No12 and No13 will need to have their world-record centre partnership running smoothly to have a chance of winning a fourth Heineken Cup crown and give O’Driscoll, 35, the perfect send-off ahead of his retirement at the end of the season. See how the “aspiring young centres” get on during an intense grilling from Carling in the fourth instalment of The Heineken Rugby Show.
