Fairford have their first home game of the new season this coming Saturday and are looking to get back on track after last weekend's humbling defeating at North Leigh United.
Boss Gareth Davies is looking to for his side to bounce back strongly after he was left stunned by his team’s performance last Saturday and believes that they will never “play that badly ever again.” “It is unusual to have that many players all having an off day all in one game,” Davies said. “This season I feel that we have a little bit more strength in depth and they are playing for their places. They have got to work harder in games and put it right this Saturday. There are plenty more games to put it right, but for me it just wasn’t good enough. Every time we have played them they have always been a hard working side. They never stop and are in your face. It will be a battle, so players need to prepare to role their sleeves up and put a shift in.”
Hooky have made a pretty strong start to the season defeating New College 2-1 on the opening day before just being edged out at Cheltenham Saracens 1-0. They followed this up with a 5-0 hammering of Frimley Green in the FA Cup last weekend. They are expected to be there or thereabouts come the end of the season under boss Joe Davies.
Kick-off is 3pm at Cinder Lane with free entry for FTFC Season Ticket holders.
The clubhouse will be open from 12pm with a range of refreshments on offer, as well as matchday programmes.
See you there!
