U16 vs Ashtead All Stars C: won 24–18
Fairlands U16s lead from the start against Ashtead All Stars, and despite the opposition closing the gap at several points throughout the game, managed to hold on for a convincing 24–18 win.
A brilliant game of netball with the girls improving throughout, especially on the second phase centre pass with Charlotte making some lovely well-timed drives into the goal third. The shooting percentages were high throughout the game and Roma and Isabella worked hard in defence to put pressure on the opposition creating plenty of turnover opportunities.

U15 vs Fetcham Hawks: lost 13–32
A tough game for the U15s against a strong Fetcham team, with a few injuries and the unexpected October heat getting to the girls. However, there were lots of positives to take away from the game. When the structures were right, the ball flowed beautifully through the court with Tia shooting really accurately at GA.
The defence worked hard and had lots of tips, and Sydney showed great leadership at C to direct the girls across the court. Unfortunately, despite managing to keep within half score for much of the game, Fetcham ran away with their lead in the last ten minutes to win 32–13.

U14a vs Fetcham Hawks: won 17–6
A slow start to the game left Fairlands down 2–3 at half time, but a switch of positions for some helped the girls draw ahead in a very strong second half to win 17–6.
POMs: Lana and Sienna
U14b vs Dorking: draw 9–9
This was a tricky first match of the season after bad weather postponed the team’s first match a couple of weeks ago. They took a while to gel, but never gave up the fight, earning a well-deserved draw in the last seconds of the game, with lots to build on throughout the rest of the season.
POMs: Alice and Ginny
U13 vs Fetcham Hawks: lost 11–15
A close game, but the girls never quite attained a lead with some basic errors costing them. However, they stuck at it and showed improvement as the match went on, winning the last quarter.
U12a vs Ashtead All Stars: won 13–5

Overall, a really positive start to the season for the juniors and everyone gave their all on court. Congratulations to everyone who played, especially our fantastic POMs!
Thank you as always to all the parents and supporters for cheering on the girls, and a special thanks to coaches Sally, Sarah and Tracey, plus everyone from the senior club who helped out: Megan, Karen, Clem, Lauren and Bea. We’re always looking for more helpers for the junior games, so if you would like to help, please get in touch with Sally.
