Farsley Celtic will be looking to make it eight consecutive league victories as they make the trip to Witton Albion.

The Celts took four points from the two games between the sides last season, drawing 1-1 at Throstle Nest before defeating Witton 4-1 at Wincham Park.

Adam Lakeland’s side have lost just one of their last 19 games in all competitions, and are unbeaten in their last 11 league games, now sitting second in the division. The run of seven straight league wins has seen the Celts defeat Workington (1-0), Scarborough Athletic (3-1), North Ferriby United (6-0), Mickleover Sports (2-1), Basford United (2-0), Marine (2-1) and Whitby Town (3-1).

Farsley Celtic will be without the services of Jimmy Spencer who serves the first of a three-game suspension, whilst Jack Dyche is out through injury. Will Hayhurst and Lewis Turner are also doubtful.

Ahead of the game, Adam Lakeland said: “It will be another tough game, Witton are a very good team.

“We had two very hard games against them last season, and they have a lot of good players that are well organised, have a good team spirit, and they don’t concede many goals.”

Witton Albion have had mixed results this season, including of late, with two wins, three losses and two draws in their last seven games. In that run Albion have beaten Marine (3-2) and Hednesford Town (1-0), drawn with Gainsborough Trinity (1-1), Winsford United (2-2) and Bamber Bridge (2-2), and lost to Leamington (2-1), and Warrington Town (2-1).

Witton are 16th in the league with 26 points from their 19 games, but along with Farsley have the second meanest defence in the league, conceding just 22 goals.

Saturday’s game against Witton Albion will take place at Wincham Park, postcode CW9 6DA. Kick-off is 3pm and admission prices are £10 adults, £7 concessions, £5 16-21s, and £2 U16s.

The Celts are back in action at Throstle Nest on Saturday 5th January as Warrington Town are the visitors.
