Filey’s double title aspirations are still alive after they won 2-1 at Ayton.
After a goalless first half, Ben Briggs gave Dave Brannan’s men the lead before young striker James Pinder doubled their lead.
A superb Ian Harte-esque free-kick from Neil Fryirs made things interesting late on, but Filey hung on and will go to Whitby Fishermen’s Society knowing they need all three points.
Brannan said: “Overall I thought we were the best team by a country mile and deserved the win.
“We did what we had to do and have taken it right down to the last game of the season.”
