This season the U15 entered the Merseyside Youth Cricket 'Echo Cup' summer holiday competition for the first time.

For a lot of the lads this was their first introduction to ‘proper’ cricket with 40 over matches, declarations, more overs for the bowlers, batting and bowling points and a proper tea between innings.

Overall we played 5 matches, drawing 3 and losing 2.

Top-scoring batsman was Jake Eastwood and he was also the player of the summer for his batting and bowling.

We used over 20 players so plenty of experience gained for next summer when hopefully we will enter the competition again. It was also a good introduction to the longer form of the game for those players looking to be selected for the adult squads.

Many thanks to the parents who provided transport to the away matches and to Michelle Gallen for helping out with the teas for the home matches.
