The Miners make their first league cup final appearance in 15 years as we go up against 7th place Barton Town. Along with quarter and semi-final opponents Bottesford and Grimsby, The Swans are one of the few sides to avoid defeat against us in the league this season. Both sides come into this one in excellent form - Nathan Jarman’s side finished the season with only one defeat in their last six with Paul Marshall's men undefeated in their last eleven, which is sure to make for an entertaining final. Victories over Silsden, AFC Mansfield, Thackley and Staveley brought The Swans to Doncaster for their first appearance in a league cup final. This will be Garforth’s third appearance, our last in 2007 when we lost out on penalties to Mickleover Sports at Sheffield FC’s Coach & Horses Ground. Town have lifted the trophy once, back in 2000 when Dave Parker's side defeated Glapwell at Ossett Albion’s Dimple Wells.
Can we continue our excellent record in big games to cap off an excellent season with an addition to the trophy cabinet? Either way, it's sure to be a memorable occasion and we hope to see you there. Up the Miners!
