Dog Fouling is where a person in charge of a dog allows it to foul and fails to clean it up.
This runs the risk of spreading Toxocariasis, which can lead to eye damage and blindness. To prevent this, dog owners should always clean up after their dog and by doing so, they would avoid the possibility of being fined up to £1000.
A Tidy Britain Group survey found that 80% of people questioned were "greatly concerned" by dog mess, an indication that problems caused by dog fouling are all too common. In Gloucester we have an enforcement team which patrol the open spaces to ensure that the land is being used appropriately. If they find land being misused they take action.
