St Peters and Chosen Hill took home silverware from the event held at Old Leamingtonians RFC in Warwickshire.
St Peters Year 10 and Chosen Hill Year 9 teams will now go into the hat for the national draws and join the leading schools from around the country on the road to Wembley Weekend in August.
The day, which featured the teams who had battled through from the East Midlands, West Midlands and South West regional competitions, saw a number of excellent games, culminating in a stunning Year 11 final.
All finals, with the exception of Year 7, were played as a tri-series, giving all three teams the opportunity to experience the magic of finals day.
St Peters Year 10 team were impressive in beating Derbyshire’s Dronfield Henry Fanshaw school (16-6) and Q3 Academy (Wolverhampton) 28-0 on their way to becoming champions while Chosen Hill’s Year 9s did not concede a point in beating Moreton (Wolverhampton) by 36-0 and Frederick Gent (Derbyshire) 12-0.
St Peters Year 11 boys lost both of their pool games, each by only two points before Churchdown Year 8s recovered from losing 16-0 to Telford’s Burton Borough school to thump Wilsthorpe school from Derbyshire 26-4. However, the boys from Telford’s win over Wilsthorpe just saw them take the spoils.
Both St Peters and Chosen Hill along with Churchdown and a number of other schools from the county will be fielding teams in the 1908 Cup on Thursday 9 May at The Folley.
St Peters hold the Year 9 title while Chosen Hill are the Year 8 and Year 10 champions.
