Gorleston Football Club would like to make the following statement...

Gorleston FC is pleased to announce that Jamie Humphries will take over the role, with immediate effect, as Chairman of Gorleston following the departure of Alan Gordon due to health reasons.

The club The club would like to place on record our sincere gratitude the outgoing Chairman has shown during his tenure for the club.

On his appointment Jamie Humphries – GFC Chairman said…

"As all of the Green Army will know the club has been actively seeking a suitable new home to give the club a sustainable future going forward. Earlier in the season the Club announced that it had gained planning permission to build a new home in partnership with East Norfolk Sixth Form College at their site at Church Lane. This work and exercise in partnership with Pleasure & Leisure Corporation PLC & Norfolk FA has not been without its challenges both in terms of resources and up front financial commitments.

"These financial challenges have proved particularly difficult this season when covering the costs to run the club and keep the team on the pitch competitive, without being left behind by other teams within the league. That being said, although results have not gone our way, the Club stands by the current management team that was brought in earlier in the season to guide the club to safety within the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.

Everybody in football knows that time and confidence plays a massive part of how the team perform, therefore the Club want to reaffirm the position of the Football Management Team who were brought in to lead the team in a different direction. I ask all our loyal fans to help get behind the team in this difficult patch.

I look forward to meeting the Green Army and our loyal fans at our next home match on Friday 6th March v Walsham Le Willows to cheer the boys on.

Jamie"
