Club History

Grangetown Boys Club is the largest grassroots non league community football club in Middlesbrough.

Founded in 1941, the Club is affectionately known as Boysie and play in a traditional black and orange kit inspired by the Tiger on the club.

Boysie are based at the B & W Lifting Ltd Stadium, which is home to a successful men's team and one of the most well respected junior set-ups in Teesside providing opportunities for boys and girls from the local area.

Enjoying our best spell of success in the modern era, Boysie's First Team have clinched five Teesside League Championships, four MacMillan Bowl Cup, and two R T Raine Trophies throughout history.

The club first found success in the MacMillan Bowl in 63/64 before breaking a 36 year duck in 99/00, and finding subsequent success in the competition in 01/02, and 02/03.

Boysie secured their inaugural Teesside League (Step 7) title in 98/99 and successfully defended their championship status the following season in 99/00.

The turn of the millennium saw Boysie go from strength to strength, clinching back to back league titles in 01/02 and 02/03.

Alongside the traditional league and cup success the club also triumphed twice in the charity shield in the noughties, winning the R T Raine Trophy in 02/03 and 03/04.

The club's last league title came in 10/11. Today the first team is managed by James Hunter and Rob Rennard and currently sit second in the North Riding League Premier Division, the spiritual successor to the Teesside League.
