Grange Villa were at home in the County Cup against Peterlee Premier League side, Murton Colliery.
The game started fairly evenly with both sides battling well in midfield but not creating too many chances. The deadlock was broken on 21 minutes when Michael Baxter collected a lay-off from Ben Addison about 20 yards out, before smashing the ball into the top bin, giving the keeper no chance. On 28 minutes the Villa doubled their lead when Henry Harvey blocked a clearance, the ball fell to Harvey Walsh, and calmly found the far bottom corner. Three minutes later, Ben Addison chased down a short back pass , beat the keeper to it, and scored the Villa's third. With time running out in the first half, Brogan Colquhoun made a great save to keep his clean sheet intact, and in the very next minute the Villa made it four. Harvey Walsh intercepted a pass out by the visiting keeper, before slotting it home.
With the Villa being four goals up, all four subs were used but the second half didn't produce any further goals from either side. A great first half performance added to by a steady, well managed second half sees the Villa through to the last 32.
Special mention to Murton Colliery team, officials and supporters who came back to the club for a good afternoon.
