First Half
Miss suffer a blow before kick off when Buckthorpe sustained a nasty cut just below his eye and has to head off to Wycombe Hospital for treatment.
FC Tradesmen make the best start and Miss struggled to contain them. On 13 minutes Mines manages to parry a decent strike but it sits up nicely for the striker to head home for 1-0. Miss switch to 433 with Foulkes dropping in central midfield where they were outnumbered. The change works and Miss are competing now in a good contest. Their hard work pays of in the 44th minutes when the energetic Pooley holds off two defenders before delivering a superb cross to Gasiorowski at the far post and he heads home for 1-1.
Second Half
FC Tradesmen get their noses in front early in the second half. The Miss defence doesn’t deal with a ball down the left flank and the attacker produces a great shot that Mines can’t get a hand on and it’s 2-1 on 48 minutes. Miss make get several chances from free kicks conceded round the box but free kick legend Gasiorowski can’t find the target. It’s FC Tradesmen who go three up on 64 minutes when
they get in behind the Miss defence and execute a good finish for 3-1 but it did look offside? Miss keep battling and Pooley gets one back on 77 minutes with a run into the box. The first shot is saved but Pooley knocks in the rebound. Despite dominating the remaining 15 minutes Miss can’t find another opening and the referee blows for full time.
Pick of the players
Miss defended manfully against a strong opposition attack and Dias had an outstanding game at the heart of the defence. The midfield battled with Rosner putting in the hard yards but containing a lively opposition was a tough ask. Up front Gasiorowski showed his flair in patches and took his goal well but it was the effervescent Pooley who caught the eye with an action man performance topped off with a great assist and a super individual goal.
Conclusion
This was was a tough battle for Miss and, despite a difficult first 20 minutes, were always in this game and didn't deserve to finish pointless.
