Witches comprehensively beat Horsford by 190 runs

After losing the toss The Witches were asked to bat first on a sun-drenched wicket. Drew Beazleigh (37) and James Spelman (63) put on 83 before both were victims to young slow bowler Cameron Graveling who reduced the home side to 112 for 2. Yas Valli and Hudson De Lucchi then added 139 for the third wicket with the impressive De Lucchi hitting eleven fours and one six in his 75 from 78 balls. When Will Means entered the fray the score was 261 for 5 with Will Rogers having taken three wickets. Means dominated an unbroken stand of 49 with Valli, striking 45 from just 16 balls with three fours and four sixes. Valli ended unbeaten on an excellent 74 as the innings concluded on an imposing 310 for 5.

Horsford needed a strong start if they were going to challenge the Witchingham total, but home skipper Andy Hanby had other ideas taking the first three wickets to leave Horsford 44 for 3. Brett Stolworthy then got in on the act with the wicket of Ethan Metcalf and at tea the visitors were 77 for 4.

Any faint hopes Horsford had were extinguished in the first over after tea when Hanby bowled both Rogers and Will Bryan. Gus McKeon showed some resistant with 33 and was last man out when bowled by Stolworthy as Horsford succumbed for 120 in 30 overs.

In stark contrast to Horsford where the five Witchingham wickets were taken by slow bowlers Graveling and Rogers, it was the two Norfolk seamers Hanby with 6 for 42 and Stolworthy 4 for 33 who claimed the Horsford wickets.
