Greenfield put in an excellent performance and matched tier 2 side Mold Alex in all departments before succumbing to a penalty shootout defeat. We got off to the worst possible start as Dominic Doherty put the hosts ahead after just 3 minutes. Mold then had a sustained 15 minute period of pressure which we held resolute to. We then started to grow into the game and went close through John Newton. We drew level on the stroke of half time when a 35 yard free kick from Ryan Davies was fumbled by the Mold Keeper. Greenfield started the second half brightly and went ahead on 56 minutes when Dylan Roberts finished off an excellent counter attacking move. Mold then continued to pile the pressure but we were holding firm until the turning point of the game when Ryan Davies was sent off. Mold then levelled in the 90 minute through former Greenfield captain Sion McHugh. Greenfield then had a chance to win it at the death as Ryan Jones was through on goal only to be brought down by last man Steve Watkins but somehow the referee only deemed this a yellow card.The game to went to penalties which Mold won 3-2
