As part of the clubs restructure we have put together a new operational team that further strengthens the club off the field.

Meet our Operational Team

Meet the hard-working volunteers, who will be working into the new Board of Directors and helping the club to move forward efficiently and effectively in our upcoming 2024/25 Northern Premier League season. A Football Club cannot function without key members working tirelessly in the background – and fortunately for us, we have a small group of people working extremely hard and all pulling the same direction.

Head of Operations – Dan Holland
Dan moves from his media duties to be our Head of Operations going into the new season. Dan has been at the club for a number of seasons and knows the functionality better than most. He will be our Operational Lead at all our home games – helping manage everything around the Ground, Away Team Committees, and supporting Hospitality.

Dan Holland “I have been part of the Boro family for around 8 years now when my eldest son first joined as an Under 7, during this time I have filled whatever role has been required, what my skillset suits and also what time I can dedicate to that role. I have thoroughly enjoyed the last two seasons as media lead and hope that the club have benefitted from the time and passion I put into the role. It has also given me and my two sons a shared passion with us travelling home and away. However, towards the back end of last season, the lengthy away trips were proving somewhat difficult with a new long term relationship moving to the top of my list of priorities when not with the boys. When the club held a meeting to discuss the new operational team it was my intention to step back from media duties due to needing to be at both home and away games to fulfil the role properly, so when Chris (Marshall) and Jason (Flint) proposed this new role it was a no brainer and one I was eager to accept.”
“I fully intend to be at the majority of home games and are proud to be given the responsibility to improve the ‘matchday experience’ of both home and away fans alike. Also, working alongside Lauren in hospitality and Lee to put on more social events is an exciting development and one that I hope grows the profile of the club. The club are really going places at the moment and think we have the right people in the right roles to move us on to the next level, that is both on and off the field.”

Operational Support & Events Manager – Lee Thompson
Lee moves from his commercial duties to work alongside Dan, with Operational Support on some Match Days but also taking full control of organising our First Team Events during the season. Lee will be looking to arrange the Clubs Charity Days, Sportsman Dinners, Christmas and social functions, our Annual Awards Ceremony whilst also looking to arrange and support any events that our Sponsorship Network have arranged with the club.

Head of Media & Communications – Rob Dawley
Rob Dawley returns for his 3rd season at The Football Club as our Head of Media & Communications. Rob will be running all of our Social Media platforms including a newly created YouTube channel for the 12,000+ followers we have. He will also be our Match Day Media man, running the online feed on Twitter and conducting all interviews with Management and Players. Rob will also be looking to create content during the week, covering some training sessions and interviews with Board Members and Sponsors.

Player Liaison Officer – Sam Sarbutt
On the back of his MOM performance in our last fixture of last season, influential midfielder Sam Sarbutt has decided to join the backroom staff upon his retirement. Sam comes back to the club as our Player Liaison Officer, allowing him to be our communications lead from the Players into Staff, Physio, Management & Board. He will use his already close relationship with the playing group to ensure we have a strong link between them and everyone at the club.

Sam Sarbutt “Absolutely delighted to stay around the Football Club and remain close to the players. It was a difficult decision to retire having made 6 appearances during last season, but I felt the time was right. Frustratingly The Management vacancy didn’t become available, and it appears the club are not advertising for a Vice Chairman, so here I am…. For now. Looking forward to working with the players to ensure they have everything they need, especially Higton who has a high volume of demands in any given season”

Commercial & Hospitality Manager – Lauren Flett
Lauren Flett joins the Football Club as our newly appointed Commercial & Hospitality Manager. Lauren will be working closely with Club Chairman Jason Flint and Commercial Director Allan McCartney to create a strong commercial link with our full Sponsorship Network throughout the season. She will also be our Hospitality Manager, working closely with Recognition Express (our Hospitality Suite Sponsor) to create a perfect environment for Match Hospitality Sponsors across all Home fixtures throughout the season.

Lauren Flett “Really excited to be part of this new venture at Grimsby Borough, and grateful to Jase (Flint) and The Board for seeing my potential and approaching me to join the Operational Team. I have a commercial background and I’ll be working on making us stronger and better connected with the local community whilst also working with Danny Bevis (Hospitality Sponsor) to improve our already successful Match Day Hospitality experience. It’s all very organised and I’m already enjoying making a positive impact – I can’t wait for the season to start to see it all come together”

Commercial Manager – Kodie Robinson
Kodie Robinson joins the Football Club as an additional Commercial Manager. Kodie will be looking to actively communicate with new and existing companies within our Sponsorship Network to ensure we are discussing their Sponsorship Commitment and supporting them in anyway we can.

Head of Youth Development – Sam Vincent
Sam Vincent steps up into the Head of Youth Development role, having coached within our Junior Section. Sam will be looking to create our Club DNA and create a pathway from our Juniors, Academy and Reserves into First Team Football. Working closely with other coaches and reporting into our First Team Management Structure to try and capture club talent and progress it as much as possible.

Sam Vincent “I am delighted to accept this really exciting new role at the club and taking a leading part in developing the truly outstanding young talent we have at Grimsby Borough. This is a club which puts the progression of young players at the heart of what we do, and is a special place for talented young players to develop. I’ve very much looking forward to working with our junior section, U18 teams and senior teams to lead on an exciting player pathway towards Baz, Scott and Mark in the first team”.
