Update regarding Haddon CC membership and match fees for 2024 season.

Dear All
The start of the new cricket season is fast approaching - we just need the weather to turn for the better and start to dry up the saturated grounds.
We have met as a new committee following the AGM at the end of February and have had long discussions on membership and match fees for the new season. It is clear that there is significant reliance on profits being made from the bars at West Haddon and East Haddon and the Beer Festival to subsidise the growing losses we are making on ‘cricketing related’ activities.
We saw a decrease in profits from these sources last year due to the inclement weather and feel we can no longer rely on the bar takings to sure up the cricketing financial position. We are also aware that both membership and match fees have not been increased over the last few years.
As a result, we have taken the decision to increase both membership and match fees, with some exceptions. We are looking for sponsorship opportunities as a separate form of income to not completely rely on members as income sources through match fees/subs and bar takings. More details about this will be released in due course. Please see the 2024 membership fees below.

Membership fees:
• Adults – not for Wednesday only:
o this will be £120 (2023: £100) if paid in full or a 4-monthly instalment plan (£30 per month) set up by Friday 17TH May.
o After 17th May, membership fee will increase to £150 and a 4-monthly plan will remain if set up by 31st May (£37.50 per month), or 3-monthly instalment plan if set up in June, 2-monthly if set up in July and paid in full if after 31 July.
• Adults – Wednesday only:
o this will be £60 (2023: £50) if paid in full or a 4-monthly instalment plan (£15 per month) set up by Friday 17th May.

• Juniors:
o This will remain at £75 (2023: £75) if paid or a 4-monthly instalment plan (£18.75 per month) set up by 17th May.
o After 17th May, membership fee will increase to £90 and a 4-monthly plan will remain if set up by 31st May (£22.50 per month), or 3-monthly instalment plan if set up in June, 2-monthly if set up in July and paid in full if after 31 July.

Match fees:
• Saturdays – adults will be £12 (2023: £10) and juniors (including students, unemployed, retired) will be £6 (2023: £5)
• Wednesdays – remain the same as 2023 so £5 for adults and £3 for juniors (including students, unemployed, retired).
• Women’s – same as Wednesday match fees.
Other important related matters:
There will be a maximum amount per family unit of £450 (this includes both membership and match fees across the season).
If this season’s membership fees have not been paid by 30 June 2024, the individual will not be considered for selection.
There are also a small number of individuals who have not yet paid their 2023 membership fees and those individuals must have paid their outstanding amounts by 23rd April 2024 to be considered for selection in any of the teams for the 2024 season.
Both membership and match fees will be collected through Pitchero and we expect match fees to be settled on a regular basis, rather than settling the match fees for the whole season at the end of the season.
If you wish to pay your membership fees directly to the Club’s bank account, please contact me and I will let you have the bank details (it saves us some transaction fees!).
If any member is in a financial hardship situation, please contact me privately and we can discuss what may be possible.

Treasurer, Haddon CC
