The curtain came down on the league campaign on a glorious morning in Tettenhall as Halas visited Wolverhampton Olympic Hawks.

Wolverhampton had enjoyed a good season, after being beaten by Halas in October. And they were soon asking questions of the Halas back line, and having taken the lead on the 11th minute they powered away to take a 3-0 lead.

Halas pulled a goal back from the penalty spot after Ben had been tripped. Harvey confidently struck the spot kick down the middle to pull a goal back.

However moments later Harvey was penalised for a handball and although Simon dived the right way, it was right in the corner giving him no chance.

On the stroke of half time a fine piece of football from the Wolverhampton striker saw him weave though the defence and side foot home.

A few words were exchanged at half time as manager Prophet challenged the lads to find the competitiveness and unity that saw the lads go undefeated in April.

The lads responded to the challenge and gave a better account of themselves. Yes the damage was done in the first half, but there was a reaction and desire to restore some pride.

Ben was penalised for a foul on his winger in the box, so a third penalty of the game was awarded, and like the previous two, it was confidently dispatched.

Halas remained positive and grabbed a consolation goal when an in swinging corner from Jacob was pushed away by the home keeper, Aiden was positioned perfectly to nod home from close range.

A tough game to bring down the league season, but a bit of pride was restored with the second half showing, which ended 1-1.

We must remember we win as a team and lose as a team ..... that was the mentality that saw the improvement in the boys performances. Lets see TEAM HALAS on show next week in the Merit Vase game against Black Country Phoenix West.
