Amateurs visited the moor this Sunday after a 3 week break to face an unbeaten Halifax Rangers.
HAFC were without 3 key players and Rangers came out strong going one nil up in the first 20 minutes. Amateurs did not let this phase them, equalising 10 mins later with a great strike from man of the match Drakes at close range, assisted by in form left back Paul Rinkauskas. The teams drew level at the break with the game looking like it could go either way.
10 mins had gone and HAFC were looking strong. Bailey and Battye holding the fort at centre backs, giving Rangers very little opportunity.

It wasn't long before Amateurs hit the target again, with a superb 40 yard lob from Drakes making it 2-1 to the away side. Amateurs hit the target again 10 minutes later with a well placed shot from winger Malik, assisted by débutante striker Jos Lingard. Amateurs had this in the bag and held on for a 3-1 win giving Rangers their first taste of defeat this season.

Amateurs have another week off this coming Sunday, but this will give them time to reflect on a fantastic start t the season seeing them only 3 points of the top of the table with a game in hand.
