Halifax Amateurs picked up a second successive clean sheet and another 3 points thanks to a great display today against St Columbas at Wellesley Barracks.
The teams drew level at half time in what was beginning to look like a Sunday league first nil nil.
The Amateurs made a couple of changes going into the second half and quickly looked the stronger side. Man of the match Drakes owning the middle of park looked frustrated by the scoreline, but substitute Lee Emmet hit a sweet ball which flew past the helpless Columbas keeper making it 1 nil to the home side. 10 minutes later HAFC hit home again when Chris Bairstow tucked the ball away at close range.
Columbus heads were down and The Amateurs were looking strong.
Drakes soon made it three nil with a stunning 40 yard knuckle which left the opposition speechless.
HAFC stand in keeper and top scorer Ben Orchard was over the moon to get a clean sheet on his début in goal.
Great game for the fans and a great confidence builder for HAFC before they come up against Ovenden Phoenix next week at home.
