HALL Road Rangers welcome Campion for the first ever time to Haworth Park tomorrow in a crucial NCEL First Division clash on Saturday.
With the visitors spending a large majority of the season around the top six, tomorrow's match will serve as a benchmark as to how far Dave Ricardo's men have progressed in the first three months of the season.
With the division's leading goal scorer Eli Hey set to feature for Campion after pledging his immediate future to the Bradford based outfit during the week, Rangers rear guard could have their hands full.
It will be at the other end of the pitch though that Rangers boss Dave Ricardo which will have at the forefront of his thinking. With a plethora of attacking options, Ricardo and his assistant Bill Gill are likely to leave the naming of his team as late as possible following another busy week, which saw a long trip to Penistone on Wednesday night, after crashing out of the Vase to Bottesford last weekend.
Former Bridlington midfielder Ash Allanson could return from the groin injury which forced him off in the 5-0 away win at Nostell a fortnight ago, whilst promising young goalkeeper Thibault Granger is also available once more and will compete with the experienced Phil Dobson for the keeper jersey.
With games in hand over the majority of the team's around them, Rangers assistant Bill Gill admitted: “You would rather have the points of course you would naturally, rather then having to play catch up in terms of games. That been said we enjoyed the Vase adventure, but the target, has and still is promotion, for me now its all about the league and launching an assault to try and get into that top six.” A positive result tomorrow followed by another at Brigg Town on Wednesday night will go a long way to putting Rangers back in the hunt.
Kick off will be 3pm at Haworth with entry being just £5/£2.50.
